He is introduced in A Game of Thrones and subsequently appears in A Clash of Kings and A Storm of Swords . Tywin was portrayed by English actor Charles Dance in the HBO series, to critical acclaim. Tyland Lannister, later called the Hooded Hand, was a knight from House Lannister. He served on the small council at King's Landing, as master of ships for Viserys I Targaryen, as master of coin for Aegon II Targaryen, and as Hand of the King for Aegon III Targaryen.
